BMS notary network terms
Effective October 17, 2026. Version network-20261017.
Application and independent participation
An application does not create employment, promise approval or guarantee assignments. BMS reviews the applicant’s commissioned name, current commission, required bond, insurance information, contact details, capabilities, service area and accepted terms. BMS can decline or suspend participation. Notaries remain responsible for current credentials and immediately reporting changes.
Approved notaries complete Stripe payment verification and onboarding. Stripe collects the required payment identity and banking details through its own secured process. Never submit tax IDs, bank credentials or identity documents in the public application form.
Assignments acceptance and professional independence
BMS receives the lead, reviews the request and assigns a notary. The notary reviews each request, location, time, service requirements and compensation, then accepts or declines. Acceptance is required before client advance payment. Do not treat an unpaid request as a confirmed appointment.
The notary independently determines whether the act can lawfully be performed, retains control of the notarial seal, follows identification and appearance rules, keeps required records and refuses improper requests. BMS does not direct the content of a notarial certificate or require an unlawful act.
Service pricing and the 35 percent share
Standard mobile service is $65 fixed travel per appointment plus $10 per ordinary notarial act. BMS retains 35% of the agreed service subtotal and the assigned notary receives 65% before Stripe processing fees, which Stripe deducts from the notary’s share under the existing connected-account arrangement. For a $75 request, BMS receives $26.25 and the notary’s gross share is $48.75 before processing.
Government charges, shipping and taxes are excluded from this service split. Any additional work or costs must be agreed before they are charged. Do not collect another fee for an amount already prepaid through BMS. Subscriptions for BMS office/online services are separate from dispatched mobile assignments.
The client pays through the BMS-arranged checkout for the assigned connected account. BMS’s application fee is allocated at payment. Funds and bank payout timing depend on Stripe verification, availability, reserves and payout settings. Do not represent the split as an instant bank payout or a net amount after processing.
Changes refunds and service records
Report inability to attend, credential changes, signer readiness concerns or changes to the requested act count promptly. Do not reassign a job to another notary without BMS coordination. BMS confirms the agreed appointment and client communications.
Refunds, disputes and corrections are reviewed against the work, travel and outside costs actually incurred. Cooperate with payment reconciliation and any required platform-fee refund. Keep an accurate service record without exposing confidential document contents in general portal messages. Maintain the notarial records required by law and use approved methods for confidential information.
One BMS network. One clear process.
For office, online, mobile, apostille and commercial subscriptions, BMS assigns an approved network notary. The notary accepts before you pay through your private portal. Requested dates remain subject to BMS confirmation. Memberships have an assigned primary notary for the included acts and defined coordination.
Across all service charges—including recurring subscriptions and apostille handling—BMS retains 35% and the assigned vendor receives 65% before Stripe processing fees. Government fees, postage and taxes are excluded. Government pass-through funds are held for submission and do not form part of either party’s service share. Included membership visits are covered by the monthly share and do not generate a second payment.
